Offset guitars, like Fender’s pioneering Jazzmaster and Jaguar, have enjoyed a long journey into today’s limelight. Originally launched in the late 50s/early 60s, both guitars were initially undersubscribed by the players of the day, despite a brief flirtation with the surf bands of the time. It was the Indie movement in the 1980s that really gave offsets spotlight success and introduced them to a wider audience. Now, just about every maker has one in their catalogue.
